This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, keeping projects organized, and turning ideas into completed action steps.

The Community Engagement Intern will report to the Community Events & Logistics Lead and collaborate with other members of the Profound Peace team to strengthen relationships with community organizations, identify opportunities for outreach and collaboration, and support the planning and execution of community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follow up regarding events, partnerships, presentations, resource sharing, and other opportunities
  • Support event planning, including registration, materials, staffing needs, timelines, and day-of logistics
  • Prepare and organize outreach materials, resource packets, flyers, and promotional items
  • Help coordinate PPPC participation in health fairs, community events, workshops, and networking opportunities
  • Track community engagement activities and basic outcomes
  • Collaborate with team members on community-focused promotion and engagement
  • Complete research and special projects related to community engagement and practice growth

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Exceptionally organized and attentive to detail
  • Reliable with deadlines and follow-through
  • Comfortable taking initiative and working independently after receiving direction
  • A strong written and verbal communicator
  • Comfortable reaching out to new people and organizations
  • Able to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate records
  • Resourceful and willing to ask questions when information is unclear
  • Interested in mental health, community wellness, communications, marketing, public health, or community-based work

Current undergraduate students, recent graduates, and bachelor's-level candidates are welcome to apply. Relevant areas of study may include psychology, social work, communications, marketing, public health, sociology, human services, business, or related fields. This is a non-clinical internship and does not provide clinical training or direct client hours.

Internship Structure

  • Approximately 12–16 weeks
  • Approximately 5–8 hours per week
  • Primarily flexible/remote work with some scheduled meetings and in-person events
  • Stipend provided
  • Academic internship credit may be available if approved by the intern's college or university
  • Opportunity for extension based on performance and organizational needs

The Community Engagement Intern will gain hands-on experience in community partnership development, outreach strategy, event coordination, project management, and the operations of a growing mental health practice.
