Making the decision to start therapy is an important one and can be difficult. Whether you are new to therapy or looking for a new experience, here are some common questions and our answers based on what it's like to work with us.
A: You can expect correspondence from us within 1 business day, typically the same day. We do get multiple inquiries a day, but it is our goal to be as responsive as possible!
A: Starting therapy is a big step, and it’s okay to take things slowly. Strong emotions are a normal part of therapy. Therapists are trained to support you in a safe, nonjudgmental space. A: We ask that you notify us at least 24 hours for cancellations or to reschedule. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee of $75.
A: Sessions are typically 50 (fifty) minutes. Based on your treatment plan or insurance benefits, your sessions may be shorter or longer but your therapist will communicate that in advance.
A: Great question! There isn’t a specific number or frequency of sessions. However, this is something that your therapist will discuss with you and plan for.
A: Research shows that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many reasons and diagnoses. Many people prefer online therapy because of its convenience.
It only requires you to have a device, an internet connection and a private space where you can talk freely. While sometimes clients need to take their therapy session in their car, it is not preferred. However, if needed you have to be parked in a safe, well-lit space and no driving is allowed.
A: We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. Our therapists work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, personal growth, and more.
A: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, or wanting support or personal growth, therapy can be helpful. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy! You can always schedule a 15-minute consultation or an initial session to try it out.
A: Being open minded, honest, and consistent with sessions can help! Your therapist can be most helpful when they know your true thoughts and feelings about your life experiences or the therapy sessions.
