Hi, I’m Derek.
I’m a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Northwestern University.
Maybe you’re carrying the pressure of your career, grief, relationships, family, or everyone’s expectations of you. Maybe you’ve gotten so used to being the strong one that you haven’t had much space to think about what you need. Or maybe you can’t quite put your finger on what’s wrong, you just know something feels heavy or stuck.
That’s where we can start.
I am passionate about working with clients who are:
My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, and conversational. I want therapy to be a space where you don’t have to perform, have all the answers, or worry about saying the “right” thing. I recognize that our families, communities, cultures, relationships, and experiences all play a role in who we become and how we navigate the world.
Together, we’ll explore what has shaped you, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and create space for growth. My goal isn’t to tell you who you should be. It’s to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident in who you are, and make room for who you’re becoming.
Come as you are. We’ll figure out the rest together.
