Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

What We're Looking For

Profound Peace Psychotherapy Collective is a diverse counseling practice treating clinical issues (i.e., stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief) through a relationship-based lens. PPPC provides cognitive-based psychotherapy to individuals and families, as well as Gottman Method Therapy to couples. We're looking for team members who are passionate about removing the stigmas of mental health and making an impact. 


We are seeking a motivated and passionate AMFT to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a clinical setting under the supervision of a Gottman-trained licensed therapist. You will provide counseling and support to clients, both in person and remotely via telehealth. This position is ideal for a professional committed to working with diverse populations and passionate about making a positive impact on mental health.

If pre-licensed, associate (post-graduate) therapists work with a supervisor to outline training goals, including completion of certification or meeting licensure requirements. Licensed therapists consult for onboarding and ongoing professional development.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Utilizing empirical, professionally approved, and appropriate methods, provides individual, family, or group therapeutic counseling and/or educational and skill development sessions based on clinical need.

2. Conducts face-to-face (or by telehealth) comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history to identify problems, diagnoses, and service needs.

3. Utilizes clinical knowledge and consultation to develop, document, and implement customized, effective treatment plans.

4. Writes timely progress notes that relate directly to the outcomes described in the treatment plan.

5. Administers clinical assessments as indicated to assess and track symptomology for outcome measures.

6. Monitors patients' progress and compliance with the service plan.

7. Identifies areas of risk and seeks consultation for appropriate action.

8. Engages in weekly supervision with clinical supervisor for consultation, feedback, and planning.

9. Maintains confidentiality and security of all information obtained from clients and collateral sources, in accordance with ethical standards and HIPAA.

10. Adheres to all standards of practice outlined by the APA, Illinois State Licensing Board, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the supervising clinician.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a similar field with related coursework in clinical issues as defined by the DSM-V.  
  • Must have availability to attain and maintain a caseload that supports continuity of care and engagement in weekly supervision. Part-time caseload is 12 sessions per week, and full-time caseload is 25 sessions per week.
  • Must have prior work experience as a therapist with a trauma-informed approach.  
  • Must commit to a minimum service period of 1 year to maintain ethical, quality care.
  • Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to all standards of practice outlined by the APA, Illinois State Licensing Board, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the supervising clinician.
  • Must have evening or weekend availability and commit to at least one block of time for in-person sessions, as this is a hybrid position. 
  • Must align with Profound Peace’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Have strong written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.


Compensation:

Profound Peace clinical staff are paid an hourly rate for sessions conducted based on a pay-when-paid model. Staff are also compensated for a minimum of 2 administrative hours per week to complete administrative tasks.  Pay rate will vary depending on experience.
