What We're Looking For
Profound Peace Psychotherapy Collective is seeking a part-time Marketing and Social Media Intern. This is an unpaid position. The scope of work will be based on the candidate's training requirements for academic credit. This is a remote position but in-person meetings in our Hyde Park office may be required from time to time. For this reason, a Chicago-based candidate is ideal.
We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing/Social Media Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and social media within the mental health industry. The ideal candidate is passionate about mental health advocacy and possesses strong communication skills.
We want someone who can contribute fresh ideas, create content, and research industry trends. Interns work collaboratively with the Leadership and Operations Teams to conduct research that improves our brand, communications, and strategy. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of brand marketing, social media, and digital marketing strategies, as well as an interest in working on high-impact projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Strategy & Market Research:
- Identify opportunities to expand marketing efforts outside of social media.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities in the mental health industry.
- Analyze competitor strategies and propose innovative ideas to stay ahead.
2. Social Media Management:
- Create and schedule engaging content across various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
- Monitor social media channels and engage with the online community.
- Develop and implement social media campaigns to raise awareness about mental health issues or practice events.
3. Content Creation:
- Assist in planning compelling and informative blog posts related to mental health topics.
- Assist in the creation of marketing materials to promote events or practice activities.
4. Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure accurate representation of mental health practices in marketing materials.
- Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to execute cohesive campaigns.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Professionalism, correct spelling, and proper grammar are a must.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
- Passionate about mental health and wellness.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate unique content ideas.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desired Skills/Tool Expertise:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication (required)
- Ability to convey complex mental health concepts in an accessible and relatable manner.
- Experience with managing social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
- Knowledge of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
- Ability to develop visually appealing and shareable multimedia content (graphics, videos, etc.).
- Design skills or experience using graphic design tools would be a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, including clinical staff and other marketing professionals.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Google Suite
